Wisconsin
So, I know I've been absent for a while, but I think I made up for it today with all of my posts! I got to spend several days in Wisconsin for Ian and Michelle's wedding. It was a beautiful day in a beautiful place. The new Mr. and Mrs. Adams are so in love and you tell it was one of their's and their family's happiest days. I, unfortunately, did not get to enjoy the week as much as i would have liked to. I acquired some mystery pneumonia type, chest infection type, pain in my lung type.... i don't really know... illness. All I do know is that I couldn't breath and was in a lot of pain. Thank goodness I had wonderful people to take care of me, even though I felt like an absolute fool. However, there was no pretending nothing was wrong.
Anyhoo, Wisconsin is a beautiful place, especially in the fall. I met some outstanding people and wish i had more of an opportunity to spend time with them. I was also sorry to leave the people that I did get to spend lots of time with. Thank you Wisconsin! lol
Blogging
Interesting facts about blogging that we discussed in web journalism on technorati.com
- 1.4 Blogs created every second
- 7 every 5 seconds
- 84 every minute
- 5,040 every hour
- 120,960 everyday
- Only 1.5 million active (posted in the last 7 days)
Something I've wanted to post for a while.
Some of my notes from when photographer Stephen Wilkes visited SU and gave a presentation before his work on the opening premiere of The Express:
- Feed your soul as photographers
- Go with things, take risks, adapt
- If you feel too comfy, then you're not working hard enough
- Get out there and put yourself out there and push yourself during these years
- Allow yourself to be open and experience things and relax
- Walk in like you own the place and they'll never touch you
- Sometimes when someone pushes you, you get stronger -Katrina victim
- When you least think there is something, stay open and look
- Stay hungry
- The more you practice, the luckier you get... like playing the piano
- Allow yourself to react and to see things
America Insight
Magnum photographers document what's happening to America before out historical election. It's pretty amazing and it's still a work in progress.
